Hiking Route from Tör Khurakh to Tsetsee Gun
The hiking route from Tör Khurakh to Tsetsee Gun is located on the eastern side of Bogd Khan Uul and spans approximately 9 km. Compared to the route from Manzushir Khiid, there isn’t a significant difference in the natural scenery. This trail has been well-trodden by many hikers, with clear paths marked by paint on the trees. From the center of Ulaanbaatar to the entrance at Tör Khurakh, it’s about 29 km, reachable by car in approximately 50 minutes. If using public transportation, you can take a bus to Nalaikh and walk from the main road, covering a distance of 16.5 km.
Recently, the hiking course from Tör Khurakh to Tsetsee Gun has been improved. Along the 8.5 km trail, sunshades, chairs, tables, handrails, small bridges, information boards, and panels explaining the wildlife of Bogd Khan Uul have been installed, enhancing both accessibility and safety. In recent years, among foreign tourists, it has become popular to hike from Manzushir Khiid to the summit of Tsetsee Gun, then descend to the Tör Khurakh side, where a waiting vehicle picks them up to continue on to Terelj National Park. This combination of hiking and sightseeing is becoming an established travel plan.
