Mountain Overview
• Elevation: 3,491m
• Location: Located in northernmost Mongolia, at the Russian-Mongolian border crossing on the north shore of Lake Khuvsgul.
• Features: Rather than a steep, rocky mountain, this relatively easy climb feels like hiking. Even beginners can tackle it.
• Climbing Season: Summer (June to September) is the best time to climb. In winter, the lake freezes over, requiring access via a different route.

Climbing Route
1. Travel to the Trailhead
From your accommodation (a cottage on the shores of Lake Khuvsgul), travel approximately two hours by Russian jeep.
Arrive through the forest to reach the trailhead.
2. Start the Climb (Approximately 12km Round Trip)
The foothills are gentle grasslands and forested areas.
As you approach the summit, there are some steep slopes, and ropes are used for safety in short sections.
3. Summit (Elevation 3,491m)
From the summit, you'll enjoy a spectacular panoramic view of Lake Khuvsgul and the mountains bordering Russia.
There's cell phone coverage all the way to the summit, so you can use the internet and make phone calls.
Take commemorative photos, take a break, and then descend.
4. After Descending
Return to your accommodation and soothe your fatigue in a traditional Russian sauna, known as a banya.
