The ancient Mongol capital of Kharkhorum, also known as Karakorum, continues to attract the attention of experts. During its 32 years as the capital of the Mongol Empire, the city was divided into two main districts: the Saracen (Islamic) market area and the Chinese district with numerous streets and artisans. In addition to these two districts, there were twelve churches representing various ethnicities and religions.
